The Devil wears Prada

Yesterday was broadcast on Tv the most fashionable movie of the history: The Devil wears Prada.
In 2006 it was a record and today is a cult between young people and adults. It was able to make the fashion system know to people who don't belong to this world.
Is it possible not to love the evil Miranda?
The despicable is in reality the British-born editor in Chief of American Vogue, a position she held since 1988.

Although the author of the book Lauren Weisberg admitted that some parts of the book and so also of the movie are completely fictional, reliable sources declar the authenticity of dynamics in Vogue's world.
It's Anna who lays down the law in fashion system, is the only one who decides what and who will be published in her journal and she's also the woman who can celebrate the importance of a designer or destroy it. For these reasons, she's loved but also not loved.  Besides, she's considered one of the most powerful woman in the U.S.A , cause Anna is like Madonna.

A scene of the movie explains the importance of the Queen of fashion.
Andy ( the assistent) goes to Miranda's office wearing a blue sweater and laughs naive at Miranda's work because she is about to choose between  two belts that are similiar for an outfit. Miranda tries to explain using a circumlocution as her choises are been dressed at the end also by Andy who thinks to be an alien in the fashion's world.

"'This... stuff'? Oh. Okay. I see. You think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select... I don't know... that lumpy blue sweater, for instance because you're trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back. But what you don't know is that that sweater is not just blue, it's not turquoise. It's not lapis. It's actually cerulean. And you're also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yves Saint Laurent... wasn't it who showed cerulean military jackets? I think we need a jacket here. And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of eight different designers. And then it, uh, filtered down through the department stores and then trickled on down into some tragic Casual Corner where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin. However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs and it's sort of comical how you think that you've made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you're wearing the sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room from a pile of stuff. "

Anna Wintour is accused of favouring the America Fashion by italien maison, of promoting anorexia by international press and by animal group of spurring the creation of fur coat. She's present at all fashion weeks and plans the calendar of fashion shows.
During the fashion week in Milan Anna decided to limit hr presence from 5 to 3 days, inviting the most important italian maison to show in that days.
Prada refused to change the calendar to be subordinated to Anna's will.

One year later after the big success of the movie, she decided to be on camera for 8 months in order to realize a documentary about her, her team and the pubblication of the most important issue of the journal, "the september issue". It was a record and today values more than 100 euro.

In the documentary Grace Coddington has a big role and also her elegant quarrels with Anna.
People say that Anna decided to produce the documentary because it was a period of crisis for the magazine and they want to substitute Anna with the young Carine Roitfeld, fashion editor of Vogue France.
Anna was able to remain in Vogue and to exceed the crisis, cause Anna is the beauty of Fashion.

Movie and documentary have a lot of common aspects: the office is the same, the atmospher also and it is possible to perceive the same glamour and love for fashion.

"Everybody wants to be us"
Miranda

...That's all!! :-)
